History
The 12th century Church of St Peter & St Paul, in the small village of
Checkendon is a Grade 1 listed building and a fine example of Romanesque
architecture, its atmosphere reflects hundreds of years of prayer.
Recent work has uncovered medieval paintings on the chancel wall dating
from the 1330s.
