History

The 12th century Church of St Peter & St Paul, in the small village of Checkendon is a Grade 1 listed building and a fine example of Romanesque architecture, its atmosphere reflects hundreds of years of prayer. Recent work has uncovered medieval paintings on the chancel wall dating from the 1330s.

1st Sunday: 8 am Holy Communion
11 am Morning Prayer with hymns
2nd Sunday: 11 am Parish Communion
3rd Sunday: 8 am Holy Communion
11 am Family Service (children especially welcome) followed by coffee
4th Sunday: 11 am Parish Communion
5th Sunday: 10.30 am A joint service at one of the Team churches
